About the Etheiryan Chocobo Sports League
The Etheiryan Chocobo Sports League (ECSL) was founded by Ry'lah Dinhe, a former Immortal Flames scout, now turned business woman and pro-blitzball player after her retirement with the Immortal Flames.Ry'lah is an avid lover of chocobos, having owned once since she was a teenager, a dark-blue feathered chocobo named "Zephyr" which has served faithfully with her throughout her military career. On in-frequent occasions, Ry'lah can be seen visiting the stables in Ul'dah, assisting the stable-hands in feeding or even saddling the birds themselves.While she knew about the jousting sport, she never had an opportunity to actually watch one, up until her company was invited to a job faire by Bloodsand representatives. Wherein Ry'lah was able to witness a joust - and immediately fell in love.It is rumored that the island that Invictus controls, has a large ranching area set up, in which, the ECJL draws it's chocobo's from.As of January (2024), the ECJL has rebranded itself to the Etheiryan Chocobo Sports League (ECSL), and will be including Chocobo Racing as a Seasonal league with jousting taking place during the racing league's offseason.

During March (2023), the ECJL held its first tournament, to rousing success with very little in terms of advertising. Though, while it was successful, glaring safety concerns were made apparent when many attendee's pointed out that more than a few Jockey's weren't wearing the appropriate armor for jousting.When this was brought up, Director Dinhe stated that she would be correcting the problem going into the next tournament, stating that she has purchased a large quantity of warding rings - specifically made to project an aetheric shield around the wearer, and equipping the saddles of the birds with the same warding magic.
